TWO very exciting updates!

In the last month, two great perfect career opportunities have come my way. They partially explain my lack of blogging.

First, I was promoted at Bethel. When I applied and accepted a job as Church Accountant ~18 months ago, I was excited, but never dreamed it would be such a great position for me. It allows me the opportunity to utilize my finance experience and education as well as enjoy the schedule flexibility I need to balance work, raising a family, my own training, and TNC coaching. Plus, my coworkers are supportive and energized.

As I grew into the position, I found myself developing their financial rhythm, providing insight and analysis, and increasing and simplifying financial communication. Earlier last month, this work was rewarded with a change in title representative of the work I was providing: Director of Finance!

I will continue to develop a finance department at Bethel. I really look forward to the opportunities that lay ahead!

Second, a week later, through my work at Bethel, I became aware that the head Cross Country coach at Northfield was leaving the school district. Say what?!?

When I heard, I literally took a lap around the office just to think. I had just been in communication with Gustavus about a very part-time position with their XC program this upcoming fall (as in, I had just touched base with them the day before!). I practically bleed black & gold Gustie blood, so I was very excited to join the coaching program there, despite the hour drive to St. Peter. Now that the Northfield position might be an option, though…

[enter in several days where my mind could not stop thinking of the pros and cons of those two positions. or, option 3, which was to not take either position, since life is really good right now, and why change anything that is going really well?]

I won’t bore you with all that went into the decision. I applied for the NHS job, was brought in for an interview, and about 10 days later, was offered – and accepted – the position!

I will be Northfield High School’s head boys’ and girls’ Cross Country coach starting this upcoming fall! I am over the moon excited!

Waiting for the XC interest meeting to start

    1. Thanks! I'm sure it will be a little crazy at times – but hopefully just loving what I do will help get me through the really busy times. Plus, you're right, I have an awesome support system.

BEST of luck this weekend in the 1/2!!
