Doggie 5k – the Fast and the Furry!
Mesa and I are officially registered to represent the Stunt Puppy team at the Fast and the Furry 5k9 (get it? :)) on May 25th!!!!

We are both super excited about it (well, I am… she just cocks her head to the side and stares at me :)). I’m excited to formally run in our Stunt Puppy gear there, since we put SO many miles in with it together. If you run with your dog, it really is worth looking into a hands-free leash – and Stunt Puppy’s are by far the best (I’ve also logged miles in Ruffwear – not nearly as runner friendly).
Let me know if you’ll be there. It should be a really fun event!!

We could publish our secret doggie training, diet, and taper plan, but we don’t want to tip off the competition. We’re secretive, just like Salazar :).
That is going to be so much fun! I guess speed runs in the family… Like mother, like dog-ter 🙂 Mesa is too cute! I'll have to check out the Stunt Runner gear, as my dog likes a good run, too!
I've never really wanted a dog to run with because I didn't want to deal with a leash, but if the leash went around my waist like yours, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
Heather – you don't own one of these leashes? Please contact Stunt Puppy (tell them I sent you! I'm sure they'll hook you up). Seriously, you'll LOVE it!!! 🙂 It has made running with a dog SO much more enjoyable.
And Michelle, I hated running with a dog before I owned a leash like this. Now running alone without a K9 companion (or human :)) seems so lonely. I'm lucky, Mesa has been a great runner since we got her (free from craigslist! just needed a home to provide more exercise!). Usually there is a training period where you have to teach them not to pull. But after that – it is SUPER fun to run side by side your furry friend. They're always there to provide distraction, without any complaints! Seriously, think about it! I think you'd have fun with a K9 addition to the family :).
