Whidbey Island – We’ve Arrived!

We’ve arrived in Oak Harbor,
Washington! What an absolutely beautiful place! Although, Nate was
quick to point out that there hasn’t been much flat driving since we
arrived on Whidbey Island. Hmmm… 26.2 miles of this up and down
might be pretty tough!
It’s been a bit of a long travel day,
starting with a 12:30 departure from Northfield. Our flight to
Seattle left at 3 and we touched down at 6:45. It was green! So
beautiful to smell the rain and see leaves on the trees. We left 6
inches of fresh snow in Minnesota this morning, and the forecast is
calling for another 6 on Sunday and even more Wednesday of next week.
I’m so very glad to leave that behind.  We’re finally at our hotel ready to head to bed at 1am CST.  Yikes.
We then boarded a bus to get to Whidbey
Island. About 30 minutes into it, our bus pulled onto a ferry and we
got to cross Puget Sound on it. Beautiful!
Tomorrow I’ll head to the expo for both
of my presentations. They center around dreaming big and getting
after it. I’m excited to reach out to the audience and hope
everything goes well!
Then… time to prep for an epic long
run workout on Sunday! I cannot wait to run this marathon (minus the
whole 26.2 miles – a little long :)) – I can already tell this
will be the most beautiful marathon I’ve ever done!
RW’s showcase race for April!
Also, check out the beautiful pictures on the marathon site: (note: not referring to my own, ha)
