Speaking Engagements

“Dream big and dare to fail!” ~Unknown

“The path to success is to take massive, determined action” ~Tony Robbins

My journey to the 2012 Olympic Trials was rooted in thinking beyond limits, surrounding myself with the tools and experts I needed to succeed, and cultivating a a positive and contagious go-get-’em-with-everything-I-have attitude.  My presentations detail my crazy dream to try to qualify for the Trials (A 1:24:30 1/2 marathoner looking to run sub 2:46? Impossible, right?), all of the little things I did and the experts that I surrounded myself with to get there, and my development as one of the top endurance athletes in the country.I also touch on the mental health and addiction challenges I faced after becoming a new mom. Although very difficult for myself and those around me, those challenges have fueled me to pursue my passions as an athlete, mom, wife, coach, and mentor with more enthusiasm and passion than ever before.

I engage the audience to think of their own “Trials dream”, be it fitness or athletic related, career focused, spiritual, or to be a better parent/sibling/friend – and provide motivation to take those first steps to make your goals reality.

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” ~Walt Disney

I enjoy speaking to athletic teams, at endurance events or expos, and corporations.  Previous engagements have been made at the Whidbey Island Marathon expo, Anoka-Hennepin School District, to numerous high school XC and Track teams, Bethel Lutheran Church, Carleton College, Gustavus Adolphus College, Just Food, Fit to Be Tri’d, and Finn Sisu, to name a few.

“Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” ~Unknown
